RDA Toolkit demonstration available on the ACOC website
The RDA Toolkit has been released and is available for a free open-access period until August 31, 2010!
A demonstration of the RDA Toolkit has been made available on the ACOC website to help libraries get the most out of the open-access period.
Background:
RDA is the new standard that will replace AACR2 (implementation expected in mid 2011). The RDA instructions are part of an integrated web-based online package called the RDA Toolkit. As well as instructions, the RDA Toolkit also includes a variety of tools and links that help you use and interpret the RDA instructions.
Access to the Toolkit:
The contents of the RDA Toolkit are open at no charge for everyone to try in a free trial period from the RDA launch on June 23, 2010 through to August 31, 2010. If you have not already signed up then you can sign up now at http://www.rdatoolkit.org/openaccess. The open-access period is also an important opportunity to provide comments and feedback to the publishers before implementation. Report issues with the RDA Toolkit to the RDA Toolkit Support Center http://www.rdatoolkit.org/support/.
For other information about the RDA Toolkit including pricing, an updated FAQ, and web videos of the RDA Toolkit see the Co-Publishers website at http://www.rdatoolkit.org
Demonstration of the Toolkit:
The ACOC website has information and resources relating to the implementation of RDA in Australia. Just added is a National Library presentation using the RDA Toolkit This demonstration of the Toolkit includes an introduction to its basic features and some tips on how to make the best of the trial period to become familiar with the Toolkit.
More information relating to the Australian implementation of RD, including training on cataloguing with RDA, will progressively be made available on the ACOC website

The Australian Committee on Cataloguing (ACOC) and the National Library of New Zealand are conducting a survey to find out your needs and preferences for training in Resource Description and Access (RDA).

The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6HNDQ3J. It should only take 5-10 minutes to complete. We would appreciate it if you could reply by 31 March 2010.
***We request that you consult with your colleagues and submit only one reply for each library or organisation.***
